Evening Seminar with Dr Rob Neborsky
Understanding the Many Faces of Anxiety: Misconceptions versus dynamic clarity in ISTDP practice
We invite you to join us for a seminar demonstrating the practice of ISTDP, an evidence based, brief term psychotherapy for a broad spectrum of disorders. The evening will include a lecture as well as video presentation of case material.
Dr Neborsky is actively researching the interface between attachment theory and psychotherapy. He will discuss the links between attachment and anxiety symptoms and the way in which anxiety is conceptualized in the meta-psychology of ISTDP. He will then show how this understanding translates into effective intervention through a case presentation.
Dr Neborsky will also show clips of a talk by Dr John Bowlby, from a private teaching seminar in Los Angeles on the subject of anxiety.
Robert J. Neborsky, M.D., is a psychiatrist in private practice in Del Mar, California, and a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCSD School of Medicine as well as UCLA School of Medicine (Hon). He is member of the Board of Directors of the International Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy Association. He was a founding member on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy and has recently co-authored a textbook book on Attachment Based-ISTDP with Josette ten Have de Labije.
The presentation is suitable for registered clinicians in the fields of psychotherapy, psychology, psychiatry and allied fields.
