Dr James Louis is a Consultant Psychiatrist who has worked in the NHS for more than 20 years and is currently at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. He is also a qualified practitioner of Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. He completed his training in ISTDP with Josette ten Have-de Labije and Dr Robert Neborsky.

He specialises in working with adults with a range of complex difficulties and is also endorsed by the General Medical Council in treating and managing mental health problems associated with physical health issues. He provides training, consultation, and supervision to mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychotherapists based both within and outside the UK.

Dr Louis is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and a member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis. He is certified by IEDTA (International Experiential Dynamic Therapy Association) as a teacher and supervisor in ISTDP. He is a trainer with ISTDP-UK.
